Pulsed-Plasma™ System

The Corotec Pulsed-Plasma™ treating system is designed specifically for treating hard-to-reach surfaces of medical and other devices, such as the insides of the plastic hubs that hold hypodermic needles and dispensing nozzles, to allow superior adhesion of the hub to the nozzle.

The Pulsed-Plasma™ surface treatment system can treat a variety of parts which would be difficult or impossible to treat with conventional corona, flame, or other means, and the system is capable of treating up to 20 parts per second or more, depending on the particular application and part.

This new system is the latest addition to the Corotec line of treating equipment for medical and related applications, all designed to improve the bonding of inks, adhesives, and coatings. We offer a wide variety of treatment units and technologies for surface treatment of medical and related parts, including our popular Plasma-Jet® system for 3D parts.

The new Pulsed-Plasma™ surface treating system treats the inside surface of small areas that conventional systems cannot access – the photo shows a plastic hub that is commonly used to hold the needle for a syringe being treated. This hub has a very small hole where the needle is inserted and glued into place. Treating the inside of the small hole greatly improves the bond between the hub, needle, and the adhesive.

We design and manufacture a complete line of standard and custom corona discharge surface treating equipment for narrow-web and wide web applications, as well as systems for controlled atmosphere treatment and a line of ozone generators for coating and laminating processes, and other advanced applications.
